Legalisation of documents in Ireland for use in Pakistan

Official documents which are intended for use in Pakistan and originate from Ireland or the UK must be legalised before being accepted in Pakistan. This process involves various steps which can all be handled by the Dublin and London offices of Certified Translation Services.

Which documents need to be legalised for use in Pakistan?

At Certified Translation Services we process the legalisation of all business documents required for trade in Pakistan, including but not limited to Certificates of Free Sale, Certificates of Incorporation, Certificates of Origin, Import and Export Certificates, as well as legal documents and Power of Attorney. We can also assist with the attestation of any personal documents such as passports, civil status certificates, educational documents etc.

What is the process for legalising documents for use in Pakistan?

If you have a Certificate of Free Sale or any other commercial document which you need to use in Pakistan, there are several steps which need to be carried out to ensure that it is properly legalised and attested by the Embassy of Pakistan in Dublin or London. Essentially this proves to the Government of Pakistan that the document is legal and has been certified at various levels. Depending on the document type the process may vary slightly, however Certified Translation Services will manage all required steps for you from start to finish.

In the event that you don’t have access to the original document and need a photocopy to be legalised, the Dublin and London offices at Certified Translation Services will contact the issuing authority to arrange the authentication of the photocopy. We manage the entire legalisation process for you including but not limited to arranging for the documents to be notarised by a Public Notary in the country of origin, and Apostille certification by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade in Ireland or the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office, until the documents are ready to be sent for legalisation by the Embassy of Pakistan in Ireland or the UK.

When the documents are received by the relevant Embassy, the Embassy stamps them, confirming the validity of the previous certification steps. Finally, the documents are signed by an Embassy official, after which they legalisation process is complete. At this stage Certified Translation Services arrange for the collection of the legalised documents which we then return to you by post or courier.
