Certification of Spanish translations:
1. By the translator
Our Spanish to English or English to Spanish translations may be certified by the translator themselves or any member of our translation agency. This is the most rudimentary level of certification, and verifies that the translation is accurate and true to the original document.
We usually include the cost of this certification in the price quoted for the translation. However, if you require additional certified copies of the translation, an extra charge may be levied.
2. By a solicitor or notary
To authenticate the certification provided by the translator, the translation may be signed by the translator in the presence of a notary or solicitor, who will in turn certify the authenticity of the translator’s signature. In this case, the translation will be attached both to a copy of the original document and to a statutory declaration.
Notarization of Spanish Translations
Translations of many documents such as adoption certificates or papers and passports will require notarization by a registered notary in the country in which they were prepared before they can be used in a country in which Spanish is not the official language.
Legalization of Spanish Documents
Many documents must be legalized to verify the country of origin of the document before they can be considered as legal and official documents abroad.
In some case, a higher level of authentication such as Apostille certification may be required. This is most commonly used to certify that the document has been notarized or legalized by a qualified notary registered with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Ireland. The Apostille stamp will ensure legal acknowledgement of the document by any country signed up to the Hague Convention of 1961.

Certification of “True Copy of the Original”
You may require a number of copies of your original document. If this is so, we can certify that these copies are true and accurate to the original.
Spanish Translation Validation
We are only permitted to certify those translations which have been prepared by our own certified translators. However, if you are already in possession of a translation which you would like to use, we can validate this translation and subsequently perform any of the certification services described above.
