Document Legalisation – Yemen
If you are doing business in Yemen or shipping goods via one of the country's major ports, it is crucial to ensure that your Irish and British documents are consular legalised. This guide will provide you with information on the consular legalisation procedure, required documents, and how to prepare them for use in Yemen.
Consular legalisation of documents in the UK and Ireland for use in Yemen
If you are doing business in Yemen or shipping goods via one of the country’s major ports, all relevant Irish and / or British documents have to be consular legalised.
Consular legalisation procedure for Yemen means that the originals, copies or certified copies of your documents must be legalised by the consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in London. There is no Yemeni consulate or embassy in Dublin and all your Irish documents would have to be consular legalised in the United Kingdom. Our London office will happily take care of all the consular legalisation formalities with the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen on your behalf.
Yemen is not a signatory party to the Hague Apostille Convention and Apostille authentication is alas out of question. Your Irish and / or British documents would thus have to be prepared for consular legalisation in a slightly different way.
What documents will I need to consular legalise with the Embassy of Yemen?
Just as a general pointer, some of the documents you would probably need to consular legalise are as follows: certificates of origin, invoices, health certificates, any relevant manufacture-related documents, powers of attorney, company registration documents, bank statements or any bank certificates, court documents and many more.
How to prepare documents for consular legalisation?
Consular legalisation procedure, timeframes and fees are established by the Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in London and are subject to change. These we cannot thus guarantee for, but we can however ensure that your documents have been prepared correctly and bear all the required stamps and signatures so that the embassy will not object to consular legalising them.
The first step is to have your documents translated into Arabic and we can take care of this in either our Dublin or London office. We certify all our translations, thus officially authenticating the accuracy of the translated text and the accompanying signatures. This is very important. To be valid, translations must be certified.
We will then proceed to legalising your certified translation. Irish documents have to legalised by a competent Irish solicitor or notary public and British documents have to be legalised by a competent British solicitor or notary public.
After many years of experience in legalisation and translation services, we have established a reliable network of translators and legal professionals to ensure that your Irish and / or British documents have been properly prepared for consular legalisation with the Embassy of Yemen.
